Ghana's Derrick Macaire supervises Eric Favre Nation MMA Championship in Cote d'Ivoire

Ghanaian combat sports referee Derrick Macaire was the main supervisor at the MMA Championship organised by Eric Favre Nation MMA in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire over the weekend.


Fighters from different African nations were represented such as Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Togo, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal and Uganda. The United States of America was also represented.


M. Francis of Cote d'Ivoire defeated Sadok El Kefi from Tunisia to set the home fans in joyous mood, while Sankara Abdoul Razac won some of the exciting matches of the night which Macaire officiated in the 10 bouts bill.


Fass Lion roared in the cage again. Korera imposes itself with passionate sporting power and determination.
Mamadou Ketchup Camara secured a total triumph in Abidjan, Sodiq kept his promises and stood in the cage with determination and power to triumph.


Philemon, the African Spartan, triumphs as a gladiator and Anderson was in smashing form to win.
Okorie, the Nigerian female warrior dominated her fight with power, precision and determination, while Miezan Prince, son of the lagoon, showed his power and warrior's heart.


Macaire organised a referees and judges course for officials to prepare them technically before the event and he commended the participants for their contribution and prayed that Mixed Martial Arts will be attract huge patronage in Africa.
He noted that there are many strong guys on the continent who can practice the sport.


He educated that MMA is mixture of all the combat sports like Judo, Karate Do, Jujutsu, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai and others. 


He thanked the organisers for another opportunity to promote MMA.
